Hi! Welcome to ABOUT INSIDER! Who are you and where are you from?
My name is Vanessa Cheatham but I call myself Veve C. I was born in Englewood, New Jersey and spent some of my childhood in Teaneck where my dads side of the family grew up but I lived upstate NY (New Windsor) since I was almost 4 (I used to live in Hackensack NJ before my parents and I moved upstate) I say I have a fun loving personality with a ball of energy and I’m that way no matter where I am.
What is your zodiac sign?
LEOOOO!!! July 31 1996 all day!!!
How you got into music?
Music was always a part of my family especially knowing that my father Shawn was in a group called “Rock N Gee and DJ Shawn” who were signed to Mercury Polygram Records and my dad was (and still is) the disc jockey. In 1989 they had a hit record out called “Swing Beat” and it became a worldwide sensation with over 2 million sales. This motivated and inspired me to continue my dad’s legacy and merge his success into mines
What artists inspire you?
Artist wise my influence stems from sounds of Aaliyah, Missy Elliot, Left Eye, and Brandy. I also get inspired by seeing how my father started out in the music industry and my teenage brother making my beats and sounds. In general my failures have inspired me to work harder for my successes and seeing people inspired by my works have inspired me.
Other passions besides music?
Yes! I’m a full-time fashion model and I love to act, dance, and do makeup for fun!
Current/future projects?
Besides my Veveology album that was released on 9/3/21 I’m currently working on my next album that will have some single releases coming soon and also getting back into acting as well (a movie called “The Fearless Three” produced by Alonzo will be out soon and was part of that film as well). So much to come!!!!!
