Rachit Sharma, an indie music artist, is a true representation of East Meets West! The talented guy did a special interview just for us.
I first heard his song ‘Lamhe’ on Instagram. I’m personally a fan of this guy because of his soulful vocals The songs make sense and are extremely relevant. This is truly a guy to watch out for as he put into motion in his poetry!
SO RACHIT. WHAT GOT YOU TO WRITE SONGS?
I have been writing songs since I was in school. Writing is therapy to me. Early on, I had no intention of trying to get anyone to record any of my songs or even for anyone else to hear them. I just wanted to get my stuff off my chest.
CAN YOU REMEMBER THE FIRST TIME YOU WROTE A SONG?
The first song I wrote was over a hip hop track. After writing my first track it felt like I had a superpower in me. It really felt amazing.
ARE YOU MORE OF A SINGER OR MORE OF A SONGWRITER?
I think I am more of a songwriter. I love writing and I think that is the one thing I enjoy the most, in this whole process of making music.
WHAT’S NEXT?
I am working on my first album Bandishe. And I am very excited to release this album. I have been working on it for the past few months and I cannot wait to see what people think about it.
ARE YOU PLANNING TO COLLABORATE WITH ANY OTHER ARTIST?
Yes. I am working on some collaborations with other artists. They will be featured on this new album of mine. I think their singing talent will take my album to another level.
BEING A MUSICIAN WHAT YOU ENJOY THE MOST?
I think people accepting my art as theirs feels very good. The love and support they gave to me after I released Lamhe was amazing for me as a new artist. It’s what inspired me to write my new album ‘Bandishe’.
