Interview with Country Music Singer Kylie Trout

We have been following Country Music Singer Kylie Trout closely, and have been trying to get a few minutes of her life to have some chit-chat and know more about her. After chasing Kylie for a long, we could manage to have a chat with her and here are the questions we asked:

PLEASE, BRIEFLY INTRODUCE YOURSELF, WHO IS KYLIE IN YOUR OWN WORDS?
My name is Kylie Trout; I’m a 17-year-old singer/songwriter from Southern California. I would describe myself as compassionate, honest, and determined.

WHEN DID YOU FIRST BEGIN TO CREATE MUSIC?
I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember, it’s always been a part of my identity. I first went to vocal lessons when I was 10, and actually started creating my own music when I was around 13 years old.

HOW DO YOU THINK YOUR HOMETOWN HAS INFLUENCED THE KIND OF MUSIC THAT YOU MAKE? IF NOT, WHY IS THAT?
My hometown and childhood has definitely influenced the music that I make. My grandparents introduced me to country music before I could even talk and I’ve always been in love with it, so I guess you could say it just runs in my blood! What continues to draw me to country music is how every song tells a story, and that’s my goal as a songwriter.

WHO HAS INSPIRED YOU IN YOUR LIFE, WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT SO FAR?
All throughout my life my grandparents and dad have continued to inspire me to work hard, believe in myself, and be the best me possible. Carrie Underwood has also always been my idol growing up. I look up to everything about her, from her insane vocals to her health to how she carries herself. She is just a class act. Kellie Pickler has also been a huge inspiration to me since we had similar childhood situations. I’ve always been able to relate to her music, and she was the one who made me want to be a songwriter and share my own stories with people to hopefully help them. I think my biggest achievement so far has been being played on Radio Disney. I grew up on Disney so being apart of it in some way is insane!

HOW IMPORTANT IS PERSONAL BRANDING?
Personal branding is one of the most important things as an artist. You can be a great singer or a great writer, but if you don’t have that something that makes you stand out, how are people going to remember you?

DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS FOR OUR READERS THAT ARE TRYING TO BREAK IN THE INDUSTRY?
For anyone who is trying to breakthrough in the industry, I would say the number one tip is to never stop working hard. You’re going to get a million no’s before you get a yes, and you can’t let that bring you down. If music is what you love to do, then never stop! Keep pushing.
