16 Questions with the cast of the STALKED Web Series

I recently discovered two seasons of the web series “Stalked” on Amazon Prime and enjoyed it so much that I binge-watched all the episodes in one afternoon. I usually don’t like indie or low budget productions, but this one changed my mind. Sure they had some minor problems, but the terrific acting and storyline kept me glued to my seat. I just had to contact the company to ask three of the cast members (Amy Homberg, Myrna Laanen & Léon Lambers) some questions about themselves and their characters in the show.

BEWARE! THEIR ANSWERS COULD INVOLVE MINOR SPOILERS!!!

1. TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR ROLE IN STALKED
Amy: I played Finn in the first season and later on the name changed to Kate. Kate is a sensitive, sweet girl that just wants the best for everyone around her. She is one of the lead roles and the story centers around her. She desperately wants to become a famous actress and while she tries to focus on that a lot, the stalking takes her mind off her road to fame..
Myrna: Olivia is (or actually was) Kate’s best friend. She is struggling with herself and the people around her. That makes that she doesn’t get the best ideas. She has a very lovely Uncle that she adores very much…
Léon: I play the insane, psychopath uncle of Olivia named Richard.

2. TELL US A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT YOURSELF
Amy: Well, i’m Amy Homberg, I was born in The Netherlands on October 26th in 2000.
I have already done a few projects which I am very proud of. This includes Let’s Chat!, The Dolls, Doctor Cheezy, and all kinds of other projects. I enjoy acting, reading, singing and watching movies a lot!
Myrna: Well, I was born in The Netherlands on August 10th 2002. I made a movie with Amy before, but besides that.. Stalked was my first real acting gig. I was cast in this role because Amy and I were already friends for a few years and loved filming together so she give me the part!
Léon: I was born in Emmen (The Netherlands) on December 18th 1979. I’m at the moment a divorced father with 2 beautiful daughters that are 5 and 8 years old.
For me this was my first real acting gig. I did do some background work in movies and tv shows and I modelled for all kinds of projects.
I saw the casting call on Facebook for Stalked and applied directly for the role of Richard.
I first got a rejection from the company, but a small six months later they asked me if I still wanted to play the part and I immediately said yes!

3. WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN COMMON WITH YOUR CHARACTER
Amy: I personally think that i have a lot in common with my character. We both are sensitive, kind, trustworthy, quirky and awkward sometimes. I also love to act and sing, and i want to become an actress just like her! Personally, i wouldn’t cry so fast because of a boy or marry that young, but it’s a delight to play, of course.
Myrna: Not really. Of course we have some things in common. For example our looks!
No, just kidding haha. Olivia can be really excited about things she does or creates in her mind. She is also really insecure about a lot of things, I personally can reflect on that too. But we do not have anything in common furthermore!
Léon: I have nothing in common with my character. I’m in real life actually very peaceful and social. There has to be a lot going on, before you can get me angry.

4. WHAT IS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE PLAYING YOUR ROLE?
Amy: Pfoe.. I think how naive she sometimes can be. Kate trusts people and situations too fast. That can be good, but in the second season she literally walks into every trap with open eyes. I think I would react differently in those situations.
Myrna: Olivia gets really mad and upset if something goes wrong. It’s really hard for me to act angry. She also has a lot of secrets that no one knows about. It’s difficult to let the viewers see something that they’re not allowed to.
Léon: The biggest challenge for me was to create someone that really frightens you and makes you think “wow, that guy is really insane!”. I think that came across pretty good hahahaha.

5. DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE SCENE IN THE SERIES?
Amy: Uhm.. I find in S02E03 the scene really fun to watch in which Olivia suddenly sits on Kate’s couch and they get this little discussion/argument. Also the audition scene in S01E03. I just really loved playing those scenes. Further more, i really enjoy watching the cliffhangers of both seasons. It’s always exciting to record those moments, because usually seasons end with something epic or exciting.
Myrna: I don’t have a favorite scene, but I do love the scene where Olivia slaps her uncle Richard. It was just really fun to shoot. I actually also like all the scenes with Léon.
Léon: My favorite scene is when Olivia persuades Kate to go into the woods with her and then explains who helped her with all the stalking. The atmosphere and the location just made it really spooky.

6. DID YOU GET YOUR INSPIRATION FROM ANOTHER PERSON OR PROJECT?
Amy: Well, i watch a lot of movies. I’m really addicted to them, haha! I think I save a lot of performances unnoticed in my brain and use that to act something out. I don’t want to copy anyone, so I never really use another project or person for inspiration.
Myrna: Not someone specific. I probably have taken some inspiration without realising, but i don’t know from what.
Léon: I got my inspiration from the movies about Hannibal Lecter. He is so delightfully psycho, but also genius at the same time!

7. DID YOU EXPERIENCE SOMETHING FUN BEHIND THE SCENES?
Amy: Haha yes, definitely! Too many things haha.
I can still remember during the recording days of season 1, we had to create a camping tent. We really wanted to assemble it together with the manual. Well, that was easier said than done haha. Because it didn’t work, we had to hang the tent on a ladder and some chairs. It was hilarious, ‘cause it could collapse within any second. Thank god that no one noticed this haha. Also in season 2, episode 3 & 4 we had to shoot some scene’s outside. It was so freaking cold and windy! I can’t even describe the feeling. I had to wear a dress while Myrna and Léon wore just normal, regular, warm clothes. I really had to fight against the cold. That day, I just forgot how to act, and it shows! :p
But besides the cold, we really did have a great time together.
Myrna:Most of the shooting days were amazing.
I think i find the first day we shot with Léon the best. We rented a building that day and something went wrong with the alarm.  It beeped really loud and Amy and I could not turn it off. A man of security had to come and i think we had to wait around 20 minutes for him to get there. When the alarm finally did turn off, i still heard the beep in my ears for a very long time haha! It was just really fun that day with Léon. We laughed a lot with the scenes we had to do that day.
Léon: It was really fun to work with Amy and Myrna. We laughed a lot and i learned a lot from them. Besides that, some scenes (check the gag reel on the dvd) took a little longer to shoot, but those were all fun things to do. I really had to laugh when i saw my chainsaw for the first time. I was like: okay? Do i have to kill you with that? Hahaha.

8. WHICH ACTORS DO YOU LOOK UP TO YOURSELF?
Amy: I look up to a lot of actors and actresses. It can really satisfy me when I see someone act really good. It can take my breath away for a moment.
If i really have to name some actors, I’d have to say for now.. Amy Adams & Emma Stone.
Myrna: To be honest, I don’t really have any actors i look up to. I do have a ton of respect for every single actor and actress, ‘cause i know that acting is a lot harder than it might look. I could learn a lot from them.
Léon: I always loved watching the movies in which Arnold Schwarzenegger starred. He was in my time truly an amazing actor. I find Scarlett Johansson also a wonderful actress. She really knows how to make her characters her own.

9. IF YOU COULD GIVE YOUR CHARACTER ONE ADVICE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Amy: Sweetheart, don’t trust people so quick! It’s perfectly normal to hold a little back after everything you have been through. Enjoy every moment and keep faith! If your gut says something, it probably is right.
Myrna: That’s hard to say, because Olivia needs a lot of advice. Olivia had a lot of problems in the past and I think that she has to learn to talk about them, and don’t blame and hurt other people for those things. She also has to learn that life can be hard and that she can’t change that by being mad and manipulative.
Léon: My advice for my character would be to get a little smarter hahaha. I personally feel that he comes across as a bit dumb in some moments.

10. WHERE DO YOU SEE YOUR CHARACTER IN 10 YEARS?
Amy: Pfoe.. if she isn’t dead, i hope with a charming husband, two kids, a dog and a house at the beach. That she’s a famous actress all over the world. I really wish all the best for her. Hopefully she can let go of her past.
Myrna: I think Olivia is then still driving herself crazy. She probably struggles a lot with her past and her future or maybe she has already died in 10 years, I don’t know. She can also be living a whole different life than she intended.
Léon: That’s a tough question. I have no idea where I see my character in 10 years.

11. IS THERE A SCENE YOU WISH YOU WOULD HAVE DONE BETTER? OR WHERE YOU CRINGE WHEN YOU WATCH IT BACK?
Amy: Hahaha especially the clothing choice of the red skirt in season 2 lmao, it just can’t!! I find it horrible and i regret wearing it so much.. I discovered how it looked after the first shooting day (I don’t know why not sooner), but then it was too late to choose something else haha! I also find it sad that the camera sometimes moved a little bit too much or that in season 2 something went wrong with the sound quality, but hey.. those things can happen!
Myrna: Yes! More than one actually. I cringe a lot while watching myself.
Léon: Always when i watch the scene back where i chased Kate with the chainsaw, i have to cringe. I can just see how i’m holding myself back from running too fast that I personally feel that it doesn’t come across as natural or believeable.

12. IF YOU COULD PICK ONE INTERNATIONAL CELEBRITY TO PLAY YOUR LOVE INTEREST IN THE SERIES, WHO WOULD YOU PICK?
Amy: Haha difficult! Purely based on acting, I would have to say Taron Egerton or Darren Criss. I think they are the exact mix of Jim & Josh combined. They would do a marvelous job! And they also look really good, let’s be honest here.. 😉
Myrna: That’s a really hard question. I would have to choose Axel Auriant (mostly known from Skam France) because he is very, very cute haha.
Léon: That would be Scarlett Johansson again. What or whoever she plays, she just brings a character to life.

13. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO IN YOUR FURTHER ACTING “CAREER”?
Amy: Pfoe, too many things!! A tv show made especially for children sounds fantasic to me, a fantasy, musical, or comedy movie, playing on stage in musicals, a little bit of everything! I have way too many dreams haha. I would just have to see where life will take me..
Myrna: I really don’t know yet. I don’t actually have (or want) a career as an actress. But I would like to work backstage in theatres, or write and produce my own music (not sing it by myself though)
Léon: I hope in my further “career” to just get a chance to play a role in an international tv show or movie. What kind of character doesn’t really matter to me.

14. NOW THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION.. WILL THERE BE MORE SEASONS? OR EVEN A MOVIE?!
Amy: Haha who knows! Just keep watching and hoping!! It would be fun tho.
Myrna: Yeah maybe…. I would love to tell you all more about Olivia, but you will see
Léon: Yessss! There will thankfully be a new season in the future and i will crawl back again into the skin of the psycho uncle Richard! It would be fun if there would ever be a movie made, but that’s not up to me to decide hahaha.

15. JOSH OR JIM? WHO DO YOU THINK IS THE BEST FOR KATE?
Amy: Haha uhmm.. difficult question!! I think they are both perfect for Kate. They both fit to her personality like two puzzle pieces. But personally, i noticed in the scenes that Kate still loves Jim very much besides him cheating, so i think that Jim is best for Kate. If he doesn’t cheat again, obviously 😉 Kate is just desperate for love and she deserves it!
Myrna: I’m team Josh haha. Of course Kate made Josh up by herself, but that means that he is the perfect man, right? So he can be fake, but at least he is the perfect man haha!
Léon: I personally find Josh to match better with Kate. You can really see that he cares about her.

16. LAST BUT NOT LEAST, IS THERE SOMETHING LEFT THAT YOU WANT TO TELL THE FANS OF THE SERIES?
Amy: Well, especially that I am super happy and thankful that all of you like the show so much! I can be really insecure about it sometimes, because we don’t work with many crewmembers or a big budget. That can lead to your vision kind of changing its course, but you guys still enjoy it and that’s what matters! If you want to act yourself, I say.. go make your own productions! Don’t wait to get cast, write your own role! Even if you, like me, just want to act for the rest of your life, not write or direct. With doing this you will develop yourself in certain roles and emotions so that you can prepare yourself for bigger roles and projects in the future! I don’t want to sit still and wait and I suggest the same to you. Keep watching and enjoying Stalked. Even if you watch it for the 100th time on YouTube, Amazon Prime, DVD, or i don’t know where, just keep watching and jump into these crazy adventures of Kate and the gang. Big hug to you all!! Xx
Myrna: Thank you sooo much for watching and supporting us. I LOVE YOU ALL
Léon: To the fans i want to say.. keep enjoying the series and hopefully you will enjoy season 3 too.
