Why actress and singer Daisy Close is Hollywood’s big next rising star

Today we had the honor of speaking to Daisy Close. First, let’s introduce Daisy Close to our audience here today. Daisy Close is an actress and singer based in New York, New York. She is a teenage American-Peruvian all-around interdisciplinary performing artist. She is known for starring as Keisha in the VC IMDb and IMDb Pro TV Series (December, 2021), which led her to win Best Performance by a Lead Actress in a TV Series 2022 from FilmFreeway (June, 2022), as well as collaborating on original music alongside Los Angeles, California and New York, New York based music producer and Kidz Bop director Scott Byrne (November, 2021). She has also previously worked with Live Nation (Universal Music Group and Columbia Records) (March, 2022). Aside from acting and singing, Daisy Close is known for her work with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (July, 2021) and for her print/digital modeling work, being published in more than 100+ magazines as both a cover and feature model, from VOGUE to GMARO Magazine.

While her life may seem glamorous to some, Daisy is quick to reassure you that it required and still requires a lot of hard work, determination, and perseverance. ” I think anyone can feel passionate about the performing arts industry, but the few that make it are the ones who eat, sleep, and breathe it. They’re so passionate about what they’re doing that there’s no limit to how hard they’re willing to work to finally achieve it. Pursuing this career is anything but easy, but I fully believe that those who want it badly enough will figure out how to achieve it, making it all the more rewarding in the end. Like I explained earlier, there’s a lot of hard work that goes on behind the scenes of it all, but there’s also a huge amount of criticism that comes with all of the so-called glamour. While it can be glamorous at times, it can also become super overwhelming and almost anxiety-provoking if not handled properly. I think as performers, we really have to prioritize our mental health. That was something I learned the rather hard way. Over time, I realized that my mental health had to be the first thing in check in order for me to be my best both professionally and also just as a person in general. And most importantly, at the end of the day, it’s always important to stay grateful and humble. “

Thank you for sharing that with us, Daisy. We appreciate you always being real and honest with our audience. We would love to learn more about the obstacles you faced in achieving such great success.

“ Of course, I think a lot of people in this industry aren’t as transparent as they should be when speaking about it. As marvelous as it is, it has its pros and cons, just like any other career. My journey to success might seem like an “overnight sensation” type of achievement to some, but let me assure you that it wasn’t anything even close to that. I think a lot of us look up to people we admire and put them on a pedestal. We forget they’re humans like us sometimes. We only see their success; we don’t see the personal journey they’ve had to endure to establish where they are today in their lives. It was a really rough journey for me to get to where I am standing today. Being in this industry, you really have to have thick skin. That’s one of the most important things I’ve learned over the years.

People will always find something to criticize you for. They’ll pick apart your insecurities and try to belittle you and break you down. But at the end of the day, all they can do is talk. It’s really up to you whether or not to give them the power to let what they say affect you. I just want to say to anyone out there that’s being bullied for who they are, that you should feel special. People bully others out of their own insecurities because they can see the potential you have, which makes them feel intimidated. They’ll try and say anything they can to stop you before it’s too late. I wish someone would have told me that back then. I think people saw that I was different from everyone else in a certain way. Ever since I was a little girl I knew exactly who I wanted to be one day. I spent countless hours singing, acting, and dancing just dreaming of this moment. I had a dream, and it was a dream so big that I wasn’t going to let anyone or anything stop me from achieving it. We need to be supporting each other rather than putting each other down. Getting my foot in the door and trying to get my voice heard as an actress and artist was very hard. You’ll get a million rejections, but that one yes is what will change your life. It can be super discouraging at times to be rejected over and over, but I knew one day I’d get that one yes that would change my life. That’s what kept me going. It’s even harder to get your voice and visions heard and seen as a woman, so just being able to share my voice like this means everything to me.

To end on a positive note, all things are possible if you believe and work hard. I know it may seem hopeless right now, but never give up no matter how challenging times may look. If I had given up, you most definitely would not be reading this article right now. Just know there’s always a light waiting for you after the darkness. Please know you’re loved, valid, and capable of anything you set your mind to. And no matter what anyone says, you are enough. I’m sending all my love and best wishes to you! Go get ’em! “
