HEY DAVE! THANKS FOR TAKING TIME TO CHAT WITH US! CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF, WHO IS DAVE HERRERA IN YOUR OWN WORDS?
I am a very simple guy that enjoys learning about life, people and whatever is throwing at me, although I find myself surrounded by crazy and fun family and friends that always seem to pull me in different directions for whatever might be throwing at them!
WHO OR WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO WRITE COUNTRY MUSIC? WHY COUNTRY MUSIC?
LIFE, LIFE & LIFE!! Country music is a way to write about things, hard times, good times, challenges and experiences that have inspired me to create songs telling those stories from my perspective.
WHERE DO YOU FIND YOUR ARTISTIC INSPIRATION?
I pull artistic inspiration from life experiences, whether it be tough life issues, fun events or anything that I experience with the daily grind of living you know!
WHAT IS THE ONE THING THAT READERS/FANS WOULD BE SURPRISED TO KNOW ABOUT YOU?
When I was in 7th grade I performed a cover to vanilla ice – ice ice baby!! it was so much fun!
WHAT’S YOUR PROCESS LIKE FOR MAKING MUSIC?
It’s like preparing yourself for the gym or whatever, you get a burst of energy with an idea or concept, then you take it and write, write, write, put chords together with a melody and start the recording process off all the instruments! Than everyone I collaborate with adds their flavors and there you go, a song is formed!! then the music business side kicks in with marketing and I won’t bore you with that haha!
HOW IMPORTANT IS PERSONAL BRANDING IN YOUR PROFESSION? WHAT DO YOU DO TO GROW YOUR BRAND?
I guess branding is everything I am being told, I just go with whatever feels right, as you can tell from my music videos that are out and those that will be released, I try to have fun and want everyone I work with to have a good time as well!
