New York Fashion Week took an unexpected turn this year when an ardent admirer of Hollywood actress Emma Watson caused a scene at the Ralph Lauren New York Fashion Show. Chad Michael Busto, a 43-year-old individual, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and trespassing after he unlawfully entered the backstage area of the event, screaming his desire to marry the famous actress.

The incident occurred on September 15 at the Brooklyn Navy Yard during the prestigious fashion event. Busto disrupted preparations for the fashion show by repeatedly shouting, “I want to marry Emma Watson. Let me speak to Emma Watson. Let me take a photo with Emma Watson,” causing distress to those present backstage.

Despite the event’s security measures, Busto managed to gain unauthorized access to the premises. Although the response from Emma Watson and her representatives has been notably absent, the actress’s presence at the fashion show remains unconfirmed. Other celebrities in attendance included Jennifer Lopez, James Marsden, and Julianne Moore.

Chad Michael Busto, who pleaded not guilty to the charges, was released without bail, with his next court hearing scheduled for October 2.

This incident is not Busto’s first brush with stalking behaviour. On August 21, he was arrested for allegedly stalking actress Drew Barrymore during an event in Manhattan. Busto disrupted the proceedings by approaching the stage and demanding to see Barrymore, prompting security personnel to intervene. Just three days later, he was arrested again, this time for attempting to locate Barrymore’s Long Island residence by asking local residents for her address.

Busto’s recurring stalking tendencies have raised concerns about the safety and privacy of celebrities, emphasizing the need for robust security measures at public events and a focus on addressing such behaviour through legal channels.
