HEY KIRILL & FILIPP, WELCOME TO ABOUT INSIDER! CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF IN YOUR OWN WORDS?
Hello everyone! We are identical twins, Filipp Revega & Kirill Revega. We are 28 years old, musicians, actors & social media influencers. We were born and raised in Russia and came to the United States about 4 years ago to pursue our professional careers. Originally, we started making social media content but music was our passion since we were young. Constantly working with other creators and influencers who were already into music – we finally decided to create our own duo which we called ” REVEGA ” and wrote our first song. The genre of the music that we write is a mix of: pop, deep house, lyrical rap and soul.
WE’D LIKE TO KNOW MORE ABOUT YOUR NEW SINGLE, “LADY FAKE LOVE.” SO, WHAT IS THE INSPIRATION FOR THE SONG? WAS THERE A SPECIFIC EVENT THAT INSPIRED YOU TO WRITE “LADY FAKE LOVE,” OR YOU JUST WROTE IT AT RANDOM?
” Lady Fake Love ” is a really important release for us. It was not written just at random. We wrote “ Lady Fake Love “ right after we each got out of relationships. It was a while ago now so we don’t want to go deeper into this but those relationships gave us so much energy and emotions that we wanted to express it in this song. Those relationships were really important for both of us and by having these moments captured in our song, we are able to keep the memories throughout our lives. That’s what motivated us to write the song ” Lady Fake Love “.
HOW DOES BEING IDENTICAL TWINS INFLUENCE YOUR MUSIC AND WRITING IN GENERAL? DO YOU GUYS EVER HAVE DISAGREEMENTS WHEN CREATING MUSIC?
Living a life of identical twins, we have the same vibe, very similar interests, and a special kind of connection between the two of us that makes us more productive. It definitely helps us a lot when we are creating music. Spending most of our time together – we understand each other almost without any words. Usually, it is enough for one of us to pick a couple of words or a sentence and we both already know what we are going to write about. This is how it works with twins. When we have sessions with other artists or with one of our friends this process takes a little longer to figure out the idea and the mood of the future song. Disagreements happen sometimes but we do not remember any conflict that lasted longer than 30 minutes. We quickly find a solution that satisfies both of us.
HOW ARE YOU SIMILAR AND HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT?
Our twin duo has a unique feature: Kirill is left-handed, Filipp is right-handed which are known as mirror twins. As scientists say – our brains function slightly differently. One of us is a little more creative and the other one is a bit more responsible and organized but together we perfectly compliment each other.
HOW DID YOU MAKE THE TRANSITION FROM MAKING YOUTUBE MUSIC VIDEOS TO BECOMING THE REVEGA?
Besides making videos for YouTube we have been taking vocal classes since we were young. At some point we started recording cover versions of some popular songs and this has been happening for quite a while. Only after we moved to the US and were surrounded by many creative people in the same industry that we finally got inspired to take the next step and create our own music. We really love Los Angeles and all the talented people who live here. This city contributes to our hard work and motivates us for self-development.
WHAT ELSE DO YOU LOVE TO DO ASIDE FROM ACTING, WRITING ENCHANTING MUSIC?
Besides acting and creating music we really love outside activities. We usually go on different hikes, explore new places with friends, and go on road trips. Another big part of our life is sports. We love to do gymnastics, love to run and go to the gym. Also we like trying something new that gives us adrenaline and emotions we have not experienced before. Talking about things like skydiving, rope jumping and scuba diving. All these different activities help us to recharge and come back to work with lots of new energy.
WHAT DO YOU THINK EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT BEING TWINS?
Everyone thinks that the life of twins is all about fun and only consists of pluses, but it is just the tip of the iceberg. Twins always mix their clothes up, people constantly get them confused and twins always have to share everything.
WHAT MESSAGE DO YOU WANT TO CONVEY TO OUR READERS WHO WANT TO MAKE IT BIG IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY?
In our opinion the main key to success in every industry is consistency. If you are consistent – you are disciplined. If you are disciplined – you are improving every day. And if you are improving your skills on a daily basis – you are constantly self-developing and moving forward. Do not ever stop no matter what you do, be consistent and success is inevitable.
ANY UPCOMING PROJECTS YOU CAN TALK ABOUT?
We wanted to share a little sneak peak with our fans about one of the songs that we are working on right now. Nowadays social media takes a big part in everyone’s lives and we decided to dedicate this release in the name of one of the most popular social networks at the moment. We will keep the title of this song a secret until we get the first edited version but some of you might already have an idea of how it might be called.
