HI! THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO CHAT WITH US! CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF, WHO IS SAVANNAH CHAPPELL IN YOUR OWN WORDS?
I was born and raised in Huntsville, AL, and the oldest child. I am in the middle of completing my master’s in Marketing with a concentration in digital and social media. When I am not working my day job or doing school assignments, I enjoy dressing up for social events, whether it be a party or gala/fundraiser. I also enjoy walking around my neighborhood, organizing my home, traveling, and spending time with friends.
AT WHAT AGE DID YOU REALIZE THAT YOU WANT TO JOIN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY?
I started as a model when I was 14, and have walked for numerous designers for Alabama Fashion Week including Project Runway alum, Sandya Garg.
When I was 19, I heard about a casting call about a new film being shot at the Space and Rocket Center. On a hot day in July of 2012, I stood in a line wrapped around the building for three hours and auditioned. I was cast as a background and at the end of working my first 12+ hour set day, I didn’t want to leave the set. When you find a career that you love, you never have to work a day in your life.
HOW WAS THE EXPERIENCE OF SHARING THE SCREEN WITH BOLLYWOOD SUPERSTAR SHAHRUKH KHAN?
Working on this film, in particular, was one of the most surreal experiences of my career, but physically the most challenging as well. I had a few scenes with the fellow actor, one of which we spent close to three hours sprinting down a hill. Also, the sprinting scene with a chimpanzee was pretty cool as well. How many people can say that they have appeared on screen with a monkey?
WHAT’S SOMETHING WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT YOU THAT MIGHT SURPRISE US?
Something that most people may not know is that I can do an impression of the Disney character, Stitch from Lilo and Stitch.
