Sammi Corona Lampa Making Waves In Hollywood

At only 3 years old, Sammi first got her start as a competitive clothing model and stage performer through a well-established and prestigious pageant system. In six months time, she was able to win the California local and state level crowns consecutively for her age division, which led her to advance to her first world level competition.

Sammi is a young, brilliant and talented actress. Now on her third year of her professional career, she has built a diverse portfolio of work, ranging from commercials for Cox Cable, Google, Chuck E. Cheese, Crest and Enterprise Rent-A-Car, to various child-targeted digital series episodes such as Muppet Babies Play Date with Kermit, Kitchen Little/Taste Made with Frankie Celenza and five different interactive toy introductions for Baby Born. In addition, Sammi had made her first movie debut playing the role of the young and precocious daughter of the lead supporting actress in the romantic comedy “In Other Words”, which was released in September, 2020.

CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF, WHO IS SAMMI CORONA-LAMPA IN YOUR OWN WORDS?
I am a little girl with big dreams.  I am hard-working, determined and full of passion for learning and exploring the world of entertainment.  I have a big heart and love to help those around me.  I do so in a compassionate, caring, non-judgemental and loving way.  I am a force to be reckoned with a tiny but mighty powerhouse when it comes to taking steps towards achieving my goals.  I strive to do my best in everything I do and believe that anything is possible if you believe in yourself and don’t give up.

HOW DID YOU START AND HOW WAS YOUR FIRST EXPERIENCE IN THE INDUSTRY?
I was a fearless 2-year old on stage performing for a packed house.  It was my stage debut in a musical theatre production and I loved being in front of an audience.  The excitement of performing, the energy from my castmates and the live audience had me hooked!

HOW DO YOU PREPARE IN ADVANCE FOR A ROLE?
Study!  Study!  Study!  I try to research and learn everything I can about the character I am to portray.  I look for relatable qualities in that character or things we have in common.  I try to absorb the emotions in the scene and also bring in my own personal life experiences and apply them.

WHAT ELSE ARE YOU INTERESTED IN AT THE MOMENT?
I am a person who loves to learn new things.  I like to challenge my mind and enjoy when I come across something completely new.  At the moment I am learning ASL (American Sign Language).  I am having fun discovering new book series and also creative writing.  Those include scripts, short stories, song lyrics and poetry.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT ON SET FOR IN OTHER WORDS?
My favorite moment on set for In Other Words was being surrounded by an incredibly talented cast.  They were patient, nurturing and so loving with me, but also respectfully allowed me to express myself creatively.  I loved being in an environment where I can learn and absorb the creative energy from the more seasoned actors.

ANY UPCOMING PROJECTS/ROLES YOU CAN TALK ABOUT?
I have been currently cast and am currently filming a new comedy film.  I play the young daughter of the lead couple in the film.  I play a precocious, inquisitive, sometimes troubled little girl in the middle of a crazy divorce situation.

WHO IS YOUR ROLE MODEL IN THE INDUSTRY AND WHY?
One of my role models is Shirley Temple.  I enjoyed watching her movies at a very early age.  I was in awe of her triple threat abilities.  I felt like I could relate to her because of her young age when she started and her love for performing.  She captured hearts all around the world and I strive to do the same by always being loving and kind.

Another role model of mine is Selena Quintanilla.  She is someone I admire for the amazing things she accomplished in her life.  Selena was an incredibly talented singer and dancer.  Her “never give up” attitude and her love for her fans and family are qualities that I strive to have.  She was known for her beautiful smile and for always being kind.  She broke barriers for women in the music industry and serves as a role model for girls.
