Rising Country Music Performer, Nashville-based Cotter Hill just released his brand new single titled ‘Good For Me’ across all major digital platforms talks about his latest single and what inspires his music career

HI, WELCOME TO ABOUT INSIDER! TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT WHO COTTER HILL IS?
First of all, thank you so much for having me. I’m born and raised in East Tennessee in a town called Cleveland, TN. I’m the youngest of five siblings. I have three sisters and one brother. I grew up playing baseball which is my favorite sport and during off season I decided to pick up guitar and I played in rock bands all through high school. After I graduated I started writing my own music and I just let life happen and I moved to Nashville in 2016 and I have been touring the country and writing and recording music ever since.

WERE YOUR PARENTS INTO MUSIC?
They don’t really play or sing but they do love to listen to music and growing up hearing all the singers and bands they liked really rubbed off on me and that helped really grow the love and interest for music that I have today.

HOW OLD WERE YOU WHEN YOU WROTE YOUR FIRST SONG? WHAT WAS IT ABOUT?
I think I was around 19 when I wrote my first song. I can’t remember what it was about but if I had to say, it would probably have been a sad heartbreak song. Those are my favorite ones to write.

WHICH SONG WAS THE ONE THAT GAVE YOU THE SENSE THAT YOU WERE ON THE RIGHT TRACK?
I don’t think it was a certain song that gave me the sense that I was on the right track. I think it was the fact that every song I wrote I could tell that they were all getting better with time and practice and that kept me motivated and kept me on the right track.

WHAT DOES COUNTRY MUSIC MEAN TO YOU?
It means so much I love country music. I love the fact that you can tell real stories and share your feelings and It can help other people who also relate to those stories.

WHO DO YOU ENJOY LISTENING TO AS A FAN?
I really enjoy listening to The Eagles, they are a huge influence of mine, but I also love 90’s country.

BASED ON WHAT YOU’VE LEARNED IN THE MUSIC BUSINESS, WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU LIKE TO GIVE TO UPCOMING INDEPENDENT ARTISTS?
I would say build you a circle, a team of friends that you trust and that help push you to be a better person and musician/writer. Never give up no matter how hard it gets and don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t make it.

WILL YOUR FANS BE ABLE TO SEE YOU PERFORM ANYTIME SOON?
Yes I have a few shows coming up you can check for those dates on my website Cotterhillmusic.com and this summer we will definitely be adding more so stay tuned for those to come soon.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME COTTER AND GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR FUTURE RELEASES!
Thank you so much!
