Psyclo uncovers her latest single, “Trephination.”

Los Angeles-based artist Psyclo has released her latest track, titled “Trephination.” It is a feral and poetic song, and the lead single from her forthcoming EP, “Slaughter House.” The song is accompanied by a music video that displays Psyclo’s struggle with remorse, inner thoughts, death, hurt, and the functioning of the human brain. Psyclo uses music and lyrics as a therapeutic tool to escape, and that’s what makes her music so unique and appealing. She reveals that she finds solace in singing and songwriting. “Trephination” is a simple demonstration of Psyclo’s deep, dark, and complex feelings. The track serves as a therapeutic tool for listeners to escape reality even for a few minutes.

After taking a hiatus from video production projects for a while, the music video for “Trephination,” which was released simultaneously with the tune, was Psyclo’s comeback behind the camera. While speaking about filmmaking, she said, “Actually, it felt very amazing.” She added, “The process reminded me of how passionate I was about filmmaking.” Earlier she used to despise working in the film industry because of the nature of the work as it involves dealing with humans all the time. Psyclo further adds, “But still towards the end of the shooting day, I just wanted to go back to my home studio, sit in front of my computer by myself, making music with no other humans involved.”

Born in Yingkou, China, Psyclo is known to use sound and unfiltered lyrics to work through her complex emotions. Music is her elixir; she uses music as a tool to heal from within. In a statement, she said, “Making music is my treatment, my only means of escape, and the only means of healing for me. I want my people to know that they are not alone in their struggles.” She continues to compose and sing hoping that her listeners may find the same solace in this lonely world as she does via her art. Psyclo’s exclusivity and ability to turn her emotions into insightful music set her apart from others in the industry. She is determined to make it big and never give up in the face of adversity!

“Trephination” is now available on major streaming platforms, including Spotify and YouTube. You can follow Psyclo on her Instagram handle for more information on her upcoming projects!
