Oppo launches Reno 9 series with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1

Chinese smartphone brand, Oppo, has announced its latest series of smartphones in China. The Oppo Reno 9 series brings three new smartphones to the market including the Oppo Reno 9, Reno 9 Pro, and Reno 9 Pro+.

These three smartphones come with a 120Hz AMOLED display and have a 32MP selfie camera. Reno 9 and Reno 9 Pro are mainly similar with only differences in chipset and camera hardware. Reno 9 Pro Plus is the highest-quality model with higher-end specifications including Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip and 80W fast charging.

Reno 9 Pro Plus price in China begins at CNY 3,999 for a version with 16GB of RAM, which would be around Rs 45,700 in the Indian market. The model with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage goes up to CNY 4,399 which would be around Rs 50,300 in the Indian market.

Though there is no word on global availability and pricing, open sales in China will start on December 2. Reno 9 Pro gets a 50MP Sony IMX890 camera with f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens.

These devices are 5G-enabled and come up with 512GB onboard storage.  Oppo Reno 9 is powered by the Snapdragon 778G paired up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Reno 9 runs ColorOS 13 based on Android 13.
