NBA Legend Kenny Anderson Spearheads NPBA’s Community Cares Mental Health & Sports Weekend Kickoff

MILWAUKEE, WI – The National Professional Basketball Association (NPBA) launched its Mental Health & Sports Weekend with a special appearance by NBA legend, Kenny Anderson. The event took place across multiple locations including Milwaukee WI, Kenosha, Racine, WI, and Zion, IL.

Executive Director of NPBA, Lance Pitts, expressed his delight and honor at having Anderson share his personal journey. “It was not only amazing to have Kenny in our midst, but a true honor to have him share his journey,” said Pitts.

Anderson, who is preparing for his upcoming season as Fisk University Men’s Head Basketball Coach in October, reciprocated the sentiment. “I love what Lance has put together and his ability to network. I enjoyed my time in Milwaukee, and look forward to coming back soon,” he stated.

The Mental Health & Sports Weekend is part of NPBA’s ongoing commitment to addressing mental health issues within the sports community. The association believes that sharing personal stories like Anderson’s can inspire others to seek help and break the stigma associated with mental health.
