HELLO  KENNEDY THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR JOINING US! TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF?
My name is Kennedy Madison. I’m a 17 year old dancer, singer, actress, and model. I’ve been in the industry for a little over eight years now. I have my own music out on apple, Spotify, SoundCloud, iTunes and my music videos on YouTube.

AND HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL BRAND?
I first started off I wanted to inspire people with my music, my ideas, and my anti-bullying campaign. My first couple of songs were about me getting bullied when I was younger and I wanted to reach out to the kids that were younger than me and needed to hear that other people go through the same situations and that they’re not alone.I think of my brand as young, hip, and inspirational.

HOW DID YOU START AND HOW WAS YOUR FIRST EXPERIENCE IN THE INDUSTRY?
I first started with theatre when I was younger and honestly enjoyed every second of it. My first big role was on Broadway in Les Miserables as little Eponine. Starting out in the theater teaches you so many lessons such as working hard and being prepared. I am lucky to have had so many opportunities. I’ve met amazing people and I’ve taken some of those lessons I learned early on with me to this day.

HOW DO YOU PREPARE IN ADVANCE FOR A ROLE?
I really study my character until I can understand and relate to them. Then I read the script over and over until I really have it memorized. I try to get a good feel for the storyline, the characters, and my motivation. Then I just let go and do the best I can.

WHAT STYLE OF DANCE DO YOU LOVE AT THE MOMENT?
I’ve grown up with every style and learned it all but my favorite will always have to be jazz funk or hip hop.

ANY UPCOMING PROJECTS/ROLES YOU CAN TALK ABOUT?
Since COVID started I haven’t been able to work as much as I used to but I have been practicing my craft, writing new songs, playing around with instruments and fun new stuff. I’m super excited for 2021 & can’t wait to show everyone what I’ve been working on.

WHO INSPIRED YOU IN YOUR LIFE AND WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT SO FAR?
My biggest inspiration in my life personally is my dad. He was a singer, dancer at a young age and he created so many life lessons for me when it came to entertainment and he has always been there for me, helped me, supported me, inspired me to be who I am today. My biggest achievement would have to be being able to share my music and actually be in the studio doing what I love and sharing my talent with the people that I love and care for.

DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS FOR OUR READERS WHO ARE TRYING TO BREAK INTO THE INDUSTRY?
Practice makes perfect. If you have a dream then go big or go home. No one can tell you no unless you don’t have the dtrive for it. Be the best you can be and don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do something. Always be different, be yourself and be creative.
