Isabella Cuda Chats About her Role on Bunk’d and More
HI ISABELLA, WELCOME TO ABOUT INSIDER! HOW HAVE YOU BEEN?
I’m doing much better, thank you for asking 🙂 I am still recovering from a foot reconstruction surgery back in December.
DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN 3 WORDS?
I would describe myself as persistent, strong, and outgoing.
HOW DID YOU START AND HOW WAS YOUR FIRST EXPERIENCE IN THE INDUSTRY?
When I was 6 years old, we were having dinner at one of the local restaurants. I pretended to be a waitress and was taking orders from customers and one of the customers happened to be a talent agent. She was so impressed by how outgoing I was, she came over to my parents’ table and handed them a business card. My parents didn’t know anything about this business and had to do some research first. A few weeks later I went out on my first audition and ended up booking a national commercial with pro-golfer, Phil Mickelson. I have since booked several national commercials, tv shows and 3 feature films.
WHAT IS A RANDOM FACT ABOUT YOURSELF THAT YOU CAN SHARE WITH US?
I have three citizenships: USA, Switzerland and Croatia. Luckily my family enjoys free flight benefits so we get to travel a lot.
IN FIVE YEARS FROM NOW, WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF AND YOUR CAREER?
In five years from now I see myself in my junior year of college. I want to major in Filmmaking and minor in journalism while of course still keeping up with my auditions and hopefully book a series regular job.
ANY UPCOMING PROJECTS YOU CAN TALK ABOUT? CAN YOU SHARE MORE ABOUT YOUR RECENT EPISODE OF BUNK’D?
I play the role of Kit who just had surgery and is in a wheelchair. Noah has a crush on me and tries to impress me with a Baton Pageant routine. Ironically we filmed this episode a week before my actual surgery in December. I loved playing the character Kit, I could really relate to her and I love her style. Noah and Kit had great chemistry, hopefully they will have me come back.
ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH OUR READERS?
I was born with Spina Bifida Occulta and a tethered Spinal cord and have had 3 major Spinal cord surgeries and just recently a foot reconstruction surgery. I’ve had to relearn how to walk, it’s been a rough couple of years but I’m doing great. I’m strong and nothing will stop me from achieving my dreams. I want to raise awareness about diversity and inclusion, especially in the entertainment industry. People want to see real people on tv, people that look like them. I would like to see more shows with characters that have disabilities and empower them by respecting and appreciating what makes them different.
