Interview with Singer-Songwriter & Actress Emme Lentino

It’s an honour to have you chit chat with us and we are really grateful to you for making time for this interview despite your busy schedule. Thank you once again, let’s begin with the interview:

PLEASE BRIEFLY INTRODUCE YOURSELF WHO IS EMME LENTINO, IN YOUR OWN WORDS?
I am an indie singer/songwriter, actress, co-host on Heart of Indie Radio and an Indie film producer. I believe in the healing power of music and film to inspire, empower and encourage others. I love people and believe we are all a global family️.

WHO INSPIRED YOU TO MAKE MUSIC?
As a child, I was surrounded by great music and cannot remember a day I wasn’t dancing around the kitchen and singing. My parents shared their love of music with me and I believe I was inspired by the beauty of melody and the healing power it provides.

Emme Lentino wrote Season of Life began the song in 2015 when her husband, who had been fighting a battle with cancer, was given terminal status. There were dark days of tears and stress that could only be expressed in music. Emme finished the song after her darling husband passed in 2016.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE MUSIC THAT YOU TYPICALLY CREATE?
I create music with strong melodies that I create to uplift my listeners. I write across many genres, but primarily create pop, rock and inspirational indie music.

WHERE HAVE YOU PERFORMED? WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE AND LEAST FAVORITE VENUES?
I have been lucky enough to perform in some very cool venues around the world. Muse Expo The Hotel Café, Plyrz Studios and Nightbird Studios (Los Angeles) The Piano Bar and The Bitter End(NYC)as well as twice in Australia for the amazing Tamworth Country Music Festival and have recently played some cool venues in New Zealand. I have to say every place has been my fav for that evening! LOL. As a performer, each and every opportunity has been a blessing to share music.

HOW IMPORTANT IS PERSONAL BRANDING, AND WHAT DO YOU DO TO GROW YOUR BRAND?
I believe knowing who you are is the key to any business and brand clarity comes with this. I had to take a good look at what was in my heart and mind and apply that to the online world. I think it’s important to communicate with your listeners and supporters and create a community. This community needs to feel safe and a place where folks can actually connect with you. Every day I am on social media- I get excited about connecting with people from around the world. It brings me so much joy when a message of hope and love from one of my songs or radio show makes them smile. The key is to give thanks and acknowledge your supporters. Having a thankful approach is what I feel really resonates with others. I grow my brand organically. Hard work means no short cuts! I like to think if I am happy doing what I love, sooner or later other’s will be happy to share the journey with me.

ANY FAV PLACES YOU’VE PLAYED?
Recent highlights include:
Singing On TVNZ Good Morning Show
Performing the National Anthem (Maori, English and the Australian Anthem) for over 2million viewers in Australian and NZ for Skysport V8 Supercars Championship

DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS FOR OUR READERS THAT ARE TRYING TO BREAK INTO THE INDUSTRY?
Never give up! Be willing to figure out what it is that you really want. If you are in it for fame and don’t love the art itself.. you will be very disappointed. There are high’s and lows in life. Be willing to create and ride those waves and stand up for what you believe in. I believe staying true to our own moral code throughout your journey is truly important. Last piece of advice, be kind. That doesn’t mean letting folks walk over you, but it means having boundaries and showing leadership and discernment with a kind heart.
