We have been following rapper Vernon Little closely, and have been trying to get a few minutes of his life to have some chit-chat and know more about him. After chasing Vernon for a long, we could manage to have a chat with him and here are the questions we asked:
PLEASE, BRIEFLY INTRODUCE YOURSELF, WHO IS VERNON LITTLE IN YOUR OWN WORDS?
I’m a Christian rapper from the Bronx, NY. I’ve been writing songs since 1985, and recording since 1986. I just released my second EP ‘Words To Live By’ on 3/25/20.
WHAT FIRST GOT YOU INTO MUSIC?
Through a mutual friend, I ended up at a local DJ’s apartment. He asked me if I wanted to rap. I took him up on it and started mimicking what I heard professional rappers doing. I continued going up there practicing until I started writing my own raps. That got the ball rolling.
WHAT IS YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS LIKE?
Ideas have to come to me. I then start gradually piecing together verses until I complete a song.
WHO WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO COLLABORATE WITH?

HOW IMPORTANT IS PERSONAL BRANDING, AND WHAT DO YOU DO TO GROW YOUR BRAND?
It’s very important. It can lead to other revenue streams.To grow my brand, I’ve begun to network with influential people outside of the music industry.
DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS FOR OUR READERS THAT ARE TRYING TO BREAK IN THE INDUSTRY?
Yes. If you’re a teenager, stay in school. Learn as much as you can while chasing your dreams. The smarter you are, the better prepared you’ll be to deal with contracts and numbers. If you’re an adult, go to work and make money to invest in your dream. And whether young or old, network with people. Let your goals be known. You never know who might be in a position to help you.
