Thank You Jessy for taking time out of your busy schedule to chat with us:

TO BEGIN, CAN YOU TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF AND WAS THERE ANYTHING SPECIFIC THAT YOU CAN REMEMBER THAT MOTIVATED YOU TO BECOME A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER?
My father was a photojournalist. His name is Charles Wesley Ford. His photos are absolutely inspiring and every one tells a story. That is what I’m trying to. To elicit emotion from an image. I love movies. I always wanted to be part of an industry that tells visual stories.

YOU HAVE A FABULOUS INSTAGRAM FEED. ARE THERE ANY PARTICULAR PHOTOGRAPHS THAT YOU ARE PROUD OF?
There are definitely a few favorites. Ones that I’m very proud of. For instance the photo of two models on a huge rock is one of my favorites.

DO YOU PREFER WORKING INDOOR OR OUTDOOR? DO YOU PREFER ARTIFICIAL OR NATURAL LIGHT?
I feel like working in a studio is easier because you can manipulate the lighting and shadows, where working outdoor you have limited time and have to work around the sunlight. Outdoor lighting is beautiful though if you catch it at the right time and angle.

IS THERE A PERSONAL PROJECT THAT YOU DESIRE TO BEGIN?
I have a personal project I’ve had in mind for a while. It is going to take a lot of people to pull it together. I’ve also been behind a really fun project called Posh Pets Magazine. I’d also really love to work with more brands and companies.

HOW IMPORTANT IS PERSONAL BRANDING IN YOUR PROFESSION?
On social media, personal branding is everything. You are your brand. So for me my “brand” is my photography and my pictures and how I put myself out there, whether it’s fashion or journalism.

ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH OUR READERS?
I’m always open to taking on new projects if they are the right ones.
