WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO BE AN ENTREPRENEUR?
I initially worked at a bank and I did fast food before that, but one similarity between all these things is that I HATED being under another person’s command, order, time, and I sure didn’t like what I was doing. While working at the bank I used to fake how I felt and I just didn’t want to do that anymore. I decided to create a opportunity for myself and others to do what we want and eventually create a strong brand and monetize. That’s how Tykoon came about.

GUCCI P, ACCORDING TO YOU AS AN ENTREPRENEUR, WHAT STANDS YOU OUT FROM OTHERS?
I think the diversity of my involvements in the industry for sure! I started at nightlife promotion, then college events, to artist management, now I do interviews. All these things are under different departments of the brand, and I’m still balancing school. It’s rare you’ll find a breed like Gucci P in your local area. God blessed me with different skills that the next person may just be good at one of my many.

WHO HAS INSPIRED YOU IN YOUR LIFE, AND WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT SO FAR?
I’ve been inspired by my mom, she’s a hustler like me. She raised me and my brothers singled handed with no help (lost my father in ‘07) so when I’m in doubt I was thinking “would ma give up?” And I just overcome. My greatest achievement has to be my new relationship with Crown Royal. They’ve been giving me props and products for my interview series and it has helped further the brand and build relationships.

HOW IMPORTANT IS PERSONAL BRANDING AND WHAT DO YOU DO TO GROW YOUR PERSONAL BRAND?
Very important! A lot of people didn’t take me serious until I took myself serious. We’re currently rebranding Tykoon into a powerhouse for media and content creation. Super excited to share with the world what we have in store! Check out our Instagram for more details on that!

DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS FOR OUR READERS THAT ARE TRYING TO BREAK IN THE INDUSTRY?
Be yourself, network, create quality content and again NETWORK! It’s about who knows you and who you know. You can’t live under a rock and be successful in this industry. Get out there and do something! Don’t wait for anybody to tell you.
