Increased Heart Attacks in Young – A conversation with Doctor Integralist Biprajit Parbat

Earlier ageing was considered one of the biggest risk factors for heart attacks. Men over 50 and women over 65 were majorly affected by it. But today, it’s not so; people in their 20s, 30s, and 40s are the prime victims of cardiovascular attacks. The heart attack rate amongst young people has increased tremendously. And the culprits behind the high heart attack rates among the young are lifestyle and diabetes. Of course, this is saddening for all of us. However, the good news is 86% of heart attacks are preventable in the young.

To discuss the same, we have had a conversation with Doctor Integralist Biprajit Parbat.

Well, before we proceed, we would like to thank Dr. Biprajit Parbat for sparing time for this interview as this is the most crucial topic today. That is why we picked it up. This is the second time we are having Dr. Biprajit Parbat on our platform. Here is what he says about the increasing rate of heart attacks in young people.

WHY ARE YOUNG PEOPLE GETTING VICTIMS OF CARDIOVASCULAR ATTACKS?
The primary cause of heart attacks in young today is an unhealthy lifestyle of people. They are more occupied with their work. They don’t follow a routine or healthy lifestyle. Most people have a sedentary lifestyle that takes a toll on our body with time. It is essential for every human being to indulge in some physical activity daily to have a healthy heart and fit body. Besides, eating patterns have also changed. Most working people grab anything and everything in the name of food. All these together cause problems for our heart and body.

The world, along with our lifestyle, is changing faster. But our natural evolution is millions of years old. There is a significant gap between the two as our natural evolutions take thousands of years to upgrade. In the gap between these two, the heart and related diseases are creeping into. It needs to be fixed.

WHAT ARE THE FACTORS RESPONSIBLE FOR INCREASED HEART ATTACKS IN YOUNG?
Major factors are Unhealthy Lifestyle, Obesity, Poor diet and lack of exercise, Type 2 diabetes, High blood pressure, Smoking, High cholesterol, and Family history of cardiovascular disease. People with any of these symptoms are more prone to heart attacks at their early age.

WHAT CAN A DOCTOR DO IN THIS CONCERN?
Well, the first thing is a doctor has to be a doctor integralist, the one who could encourage people to have a holistic approach.

WHAT DOCTOR WILL DO, AND WHAT SHOULD HE BE CALLED?
Of course, a doctor will have to go a little beyond his work. He/she will need to encourage people to follow a healthy lifestyle. A doctor should be known as a doctor integralist. He/she will be the one who will promote the benefits of following a healthy lifestyle and having a holistic approach.

WHO IS A DOCTOR INTEGRALIST?
A doctor who coaches his patients to transform themselves physically and mentally to beat the heart attack way before its probability arises is a doctor integralist. He goes beyond the boundaries of conventional approach and integrates multiple disciplines of science (Food, exercise, sleep, and stress management).
