Honeywell International Announces Vimal Kapur as New CEO

Honeywell International Inc., a diversified manufacturer, has announced that Vimal Kapur will be succeeding Darius Adamczyk as the company’s chief executive. Kapur, who has over thirty years of experience leading Honeywell’s various businesses, will take over the role on June 1, 2023, roughly ten months after he was appointed Honeywell’s president and chief operating officer. Kapur has held several key positions within the company, including CEO of its building technologies and performance materials and technologies units.

Under Kapur’s leadership, Honeywell’s next operational evolution will incorporate Accelerator and standardization of global business models to enable maximal performance in each business segment. The Accelerator is a Honeywell operating model that uses various tools, processes, and best practices to improve efficiency, which Kapur currently oversees. Adamczyk will continue to serve as executive chairman and draw a base salary of $1.3 million.

Kapur’s base salary as CEO will be $1.5 million, according to Honeywell. The Charlotte-based company posted a roughly 6% rise in net sales in the latest quarter, despite the impact of an industry-wide shortage of semiconductors and skilled labor on its operations. Honeywell’s shares were up about 0.6% in premarket trade, and they have risen 61% since Adamczyk became CEO.

Kapur, in his LinkedIn summary, expressed his excitement at assuming the new and challenging role of President and Chief Operating Officer. He looks forward to working with Honeywell’s customers worldwide and his colleagues at the company to drive profitable growth with new innovative offerings and business models. Kapur believes that Honeywell has a rich history of creating the technologies that shape the future of our planet, and he is excited to continue helping the world solve today’s greatest challenges.
