My name is Joaopaulo Malheiro as you know. I’m 12 years old and I’ve been acting since I was 8 so It’s been about 4 years now. I was born in new york city and I still live there today.
WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO GIVE ACTING A SHOT?
Actually, I never really chose acting. I had a youtube channel when I was 8 and my dad did all the filming, and editing. But then once he saw how I picked it up right away, he thought I should try acting. Which worked out because I’m still doing it 4 years later and really love it.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR ROLE IN MY BROTHER’S KEEPER
Well here’s the thing with that role, The movie was made by my dad. Meaning he was kind of what held the movie together so it was different from other shows for sure. But I didn’t have a good memory when I was on set because I had a very small role and I was 5. But I do remember what the room was like for my scene. It was a bedroom and I was sitting on the floor with toy trains.
YOU HAVE WORKED IN A NUMBER OF FILMS NOW; WHICH ONE IS YOUR FAVORITE AND WHY?
Extrapolations 100 percent because that was my biggest role, and also the most fun. But the sets were very cool too. We got to be in a studio, a beach, and the science museum of Queens. The plot was also pretty intriguing because I read the script for an episode and it was really good. (I also met Sienna Miller which was a nice bonus.)
WHICH IS YOUR FAVORITE CHARACTER OUT OF THE MANY THAT YOU’VE PERFORMED?
The character I played in Extrapolations Ezra because since I played Ezra the longest I almost got to know him more. I didn’t just understand one of their basic emotions like How I do most of the time on auditions. For Ezra it was different. It was a full character I got to build from scratch.
HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE FAMOUS AT SUCH A TENDER AGE?
I’m gonna be honest, I wouldn’t consider myself famous. Since I don’t have “fan interactions”, I don’t get recognized, but maybe something might happen after one of my shows comes out.
YOU ARE NOW A SUPERSTAR; HAS THIS AFFECTED ANYTHING ABOUT YOUR LIFE, PARTICULARLY YOUR SOCIAL LIFE?
No. Not at all. Like I said before, I don’t have anything that affects me when it comes to being recognized. There was one girl at my school who recognized me from a commercial I did, but that’s all that’s really happened so far.
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SAY TO YOUR FANS?
Currently I don’t have any fans like I said that I know of. But if I did have any fans, I would say “Go subscribe to Noname Johnny on youtube”
WHAT’S SOMETHING WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT YOU THAT MIGHT SURPRISE US?
This is totally gonna surprise you. I’m a rapper. Mainly a speed rapper meaning I talk at many syllables per second, or SPS. I specifically learn songs by Eminem, logic, Busta rhymes, and Dax because those rappers have broken records.
ANY UPCOMING PROJECTS/ROLES YOU CAN TALK ABOUT?
Things are kind of slow right now but I keep working and auditioning until the next project comes up.
