#SheInspiresUs, a campaign launched by the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi. The campaign launched by Mr. Modi aims to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8. He has offered to give away his social media accounts to women “whose life & work inspire us. This will help them ignite motivation in millions.”
Ever since the announcement was made, MyGovIndia – a government Twitter handle is busy sharing stories of women who have been involved in doing something inspiring and have made their mark in their respective fields.
Not surprisingly, MyGovIndia has also tweeted about Ms. Kanthi D Suresh, Editor-in-Chief, and founder of Power Sportz, the only sports channel headed by a woman.
Kanthi, who was recently invited by BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation), the world’s oldest national broadcaster and had been honored with India International Excellence Awards (IIEA) for its outstanding work in the world of digital journalism by Honorable Former President, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, is now admired by Mr. Modi himself for her outstanding work and deliberation in the field of sports journalism.
Well, Kanthi has all the good reasons to be recognized across all the platforms! She is probably the first woman in the world to be heading a sports channel which has traditionally and historically been a male bastion. #BRAVO
