Ellarose Kaylor – Actress, Singer, Dancer and Ice Skater… always taking it to the Next Level at just 10!
HEY ELLAROSE! THANKS FOR TAKING TIME TO CHAT WITH US! CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF, WHO IS ELLAROSE KAYLOR IN YOUR OWN WORDS?
I am a 10 year old California girl that loves life, feels so lucky to have amazing friends and family and I love love love to perform! I am always dancing around the house, making up dances, skits with my friends or even alone. I also am extremely passionate about ice skating. I skate solo, in a synchronized team and I am in ice theater. I have a few songs out but one that I really love the meaning behind is one I did with my best friend Reece Herron called Lets Unite! I also have another song coming out that is called Just Believe and it is all about believing in yourself and having love for yourself! I am on a mission through my music and social media to encourage self-love! I see how mean some people are on social media and even to each others face and I really want to encourage everyone to just shake off the mean girls and always remember to love yourself and believe in yourself! When I remember to love myself it helps me in everything I do.
HOW DID YOU START AND HOW WAS YOUR FIRST EXPERIENCE IN THE INDUSTRY?
My first experience was when I was cast in a show on YouTube called the Dab Off. It was just one show but I learned a lot from the director Jamie Grace. My first bigger role was when I was cast as Josie in the film Next Level. That was a lot of fun because I got to act, sing AND dance! Shooting that movie was super fun because it was like going to summer camp. We got to act, sing, dance, eat yummy food and be with really cool friends! Everyone on set was so nice, my castmates became like family and the crew was all really sweet. I learned so much and had a blast!
HOW DO YOU PREPARE IN ADVANCE FOR A ROLE?
I worked with an acting coach and that was super helpful! I had two songs in the film so I worked with an amazing producer Andrew Lane and he helped me with the my voice and produced all the music. I also worked with the creative director Phlex who was amazing choreographer and he and his team taught me so much.
TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT “SCHOOLED”. WHAT WAS THE AUDITIONING PROCESS LIKE?
I actually just sent in a self tape and I booked it off the self tape. It was really fun to be on that show. I was so lucky to work with the really talented director Lea Thompson. I hope I get to work with her again.
DO YOU PREFER TO BE AN ACTOR OR A MUSICIAN IN THE FUTURE?
That is is very hard question because I love them both so much. For me I hope I can always do acting and be able to incorporate music into my acting.
ANY UPCOMING PROJECTS/ROLES YOU CAN TALK ABOUT?
I am about to shoot something next week but I can’t tell you the name yet! I am sure excited. Also I am shooting a thriller /scary movie in December. I am super excited to shoot that film and I hope I don’t get scared on set! HAHA!
HOW DO FANS REACT WHEN THEY MEET YOU?
Everyone is always really sweet. I was at an ice skating competition (right before Covid hit) and this really cool ice skater came up to me and told me she was a fan and loved me in Next Level! I told her I was a fan of her skating! She was super sweet!
ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH OUR READERS?
I think the biggest thing for me right now is to encourage everyone to be super sweet to each other and most important be super sweet to yourself. Whenever I am about to go on the ice in front of hundreds of people or perform a song in front of a bunch of people or even just a few people in the studio I literally tell myself words of encouragement like… “you have got this, or you can do it!” It really helps me and I know it can help anyone trying to reach their goals and dreams. My mom always told me if you believe in yourself and set your mind to it you can do anything. I think that is true!
