
Celebrity personal brand valuation: Virat Kohli is No.1
According to Indian Celebrity Brand Valuation report for 2019, the list has been topped by India Cricket captain Virat Kohli. It is for the third time, the cricketer has retained the top position. Kohli’s personal brand valuation for 2019 rose around 39% from 2018 to stand at US$ 237.5 million. With brand value, US$ 104.5 million, number two position has been retained by Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar. The actor has taken over Deepika Padukone’s position with an increase of more than 55% over 2018 and become the second most valuable celebrity in terms of brand value.
However, Deepika Padukone slipped to the third position, sharing the position with her husband Ranveer Singh, who was ranked 4th in 2018. Their brand value stands at US$ 93.5 million each. While Ranveer’s value increased by over 48%, while Deepika’s brand value fell by roughly 9%. Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan slipped from number 7th position in 2018 to number 8th position in 2019.
While, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, could retain their positions at 5th and 6th places respectively. SRK’s brand value in 2019 has increased by nearly 8.9% and stood at US$ 66.1 million. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, former India captain rose three spots and grabbed the 9th position in 2019, while Hrithik Roshan slipped from his spot in 2018 to 11th position in 2019. Similarly, Varun Dhawan also slipped three places to the 12th spot, while Priyanka Chopra rose 6 spots and grabbed 13th position in 2019 from 19th in 2018.
Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan, saw a major fall, he slipped from 11th place in 2018 to 16th position in 2019. The list has three new brand ambassadors, including actor Ayushmann Khurrana, the actor debuted the list at the 10th position with a brand value of US$ 40.3 million, Tiger Shroff at number 17th with a brand value of US$ 24.2 million, and cricketer Rohit Sharma at number 20th with a brand value of US$ 23 million.
