HI, WELCOME TO ABOUT INSIDER! THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO CHAT WITH US! CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF, WHO IS EVANTHIA THEODORU IN YOUR OWN WORDS?
Evanthia is an artist with powerhouse vocals, gracing the airwaves and small screen. As an singer-songwriter-actress, she lends her unique style and spirit to every project. “I love sharing the creative side of me,” Theodorou says, “I want others to be able to not only connect with me but also learn who I am as an artist.”
Known to her friends as Evie, she approaches her work with verve and commitment, and her authenticity and confidence enhance her magnetic presence on stage and in the studio. She’s been drawn to the spotlight for as long as she can remember, and began booking print ads and commercials at a young age. Her early work convinced her that a career as an actress and singer was her destined path.
Evanthia keeps a daily journal and imbues her song lyrics and performances with personal experience, tapping into the emotions that have brought her this far. “Writing music can be very vulnerable,” she explains.
A product of her personal artistic philosophy, Evanthia’s projects come alive with their honesty and intimate realness. Her debut song “THE DEEP END” is available on across all streaming platforms and dropping July 28th, her newest song “LAST CALL”.

CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOUR MUSICAL BACKGROUND AND HOW YOU FIRST GOT STARTED IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY?
I am the only one in my family that is musical. I would put on shows in my house when I was 5 and they would be original songs and a few covers. I first started locally in my hometown of St.Louis doing print work and commercials but always loved singing. From there, I dreamed of moving out of my hometown to pursue my dreams. 

CONGRATULATIONS ON THE RELEASE OF YOUR DEBUT SINGLE, “THE DEEP END”! CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE SONG AND WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU PERSONALLY?
Thank you! The inspiration I got for the song was from my journal entries. During the writing session with my co-writers I read this journal entry about falling in love and how it can feel like jumping into the deep end. Personally, it means so much about falling in love with someone and comparing it to jumping into the deep end for the first time or in the ocean. It can feel scary because you don’t know if the feelings are reciprocated.

HOW DID THE COLLABORATION WITH CHART-TOPPING COUNTRY SONGWRITERS WYATT DURETTE AND TYLER FILMORE COME ABOUT? WHAT WAS THE CREATIVE PROCESS LIKE WHILE CO-WRITING THE SONG?
I met Wyatt through a mutual friend. Then, Wyatt introduced me to Filmore not long after. The song came out pretty quick. That’s when you know there’s a cool energy and vibe. I shared my idea from my journal, Filmore started playing the guitar and then we started writing. Then magic was created.

YOU’VE BEEN RECOGNIZED BY RENOWNED MUSIC INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS, INCLUDING GRAMMY AWARD-WINNING PRODUCER TONY BROWN. HOW DOES IT FEEL TO RECEIVE SUCH HIGH PRAISE FOR YOUR SONGWRITING ABILITIES?
It feels amazing! I’m very thankful to have Tony as a mentor and friend. He has so much wisdom and has taught me so much already. I’m truly honored to have him love my music.

AS A MULTI-TALENTED ARTIST INVOLVED IN MUSIC, DANCE, AND ACTING, HOW DO YOU FIND A BALANCE BETWEEN THESE DIFFERENT CREATIVE PURSUITS?
I like to schedule my days out so I know how many hours I will work every day. Then, I make sure I find time for myself. Whether it is before my day starts or after it ends. Some weeks work out differently depending on when Im in the studio and when i’m writing etc. 

ARE THERE ANY PARTICULAR THEMES OR MESSAGES THAT YOU STRIVE TO CONVEY THROUGH YOUR MUSIC? WHAT DO YOU HOPE LISTENERS TAKE AWAY FROM YOUR SONGS?
I strive to stay authentic and to tell a story that means something to me. I hope my listeners feel the authenticity when listening to my music and can feel certain emotions while listening. Biggest thing is I hope that they feel heard.

WHAT’S SOMETHING WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT YOU THAT MIGHT SURPRISE US?
I love boxing! I am not a very physically violent person at all, but it even surprises me how much I love it. Boxing is a great workout that I can fit into my schedule. It’s also a great release on stressful days.

ANY UPCOMING PROJECTS/ROLES YOU CAN TALK ABOUT?
I recently went to LA to shoot an upcoming film. I can’t give details about it but it’s so exciting!

WHAT IS ONE MESSAGE THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO GIVE TO YOUR FANS?
I have a new single coming out on July 28th called “Last Call’! I am so excited for y’all to hear it! A music video will also follow soon after!
