Today we are joined by a very special guest, Ajminur Oarish. How are you doing nowadays?
I am very busy with work nowadays. Sometime back we got to loosen restrictions a bit so we were able to work more, but now I think that the situation is getting worse again. So, we are working while making sure to stay cautious regarding the pandemic.

In your album “Feelings of Ecstasy” what is your key message to your audience?
The lyrics of my songs are very unique. They have a lot to do with self-expression and truth. My message to my audience is what you hear in the words I sing.

What is a typical day/week like for you?
I wake up very early, as I go to sleep at a godly hour. It is the healthiest routine and it works for me. I use lifehacks here and there throughout the day between the music and the madness.

What inspires you?
All people, places and events have the capacity to entice me. It is in the little things of life that I find beauty and inspiration. Sometimes simple activities such as crossing the street helps me connect with individuals who are utterly charming in their own unique ways.

What are your fondest musical memories? In your house? In your neighbourhood or town?
Funnily enough, the recording of my first song on YouTube remains my fondest memory to this day. It was a fine moment for me, sitting in the comfort of my home, when I started singing into my old handset. The ripple of consequences from that minute onward has changed my life for the better.

How do you balance your music with other obligations like friends and family?
I do compromise when it comes to my music. Fortunately, my family happens to be immensely supportive of not just my work, but also my lifestyle choices, so there is no conflict there. I can easily work around my obligations without stressing. How can there be stress when there’s music to serenade the self with?

Who are your favourite musicians?
My favourite musicians are those who nobody seems to hear about. It goes without saying that the work of music legends is awesome to listen to, but I pick out really random tracks from the remotest corners of the world and enjoy every bit of the novelty, adventure and originality they offer.

What do you like most/least about the local music industry?
If someone wants to complain, they can rant on endlessly. However, I try to refrain from that kind of negativity and want to stay positive all the time. I think we all need to demonstrate brevity to survive in the industry. I would love to see more female faces climbing up a rather male-dominated ladder.

What skill/ attribute is important to being successful? What personal advice would you give to someone wanting to pursue this career?
Always be original and remain true to yourself. I cannot stress this enough. Be yourself and see where the flow takes you. Please be patient and kind in your ways.

Do you have any final message for the readers?
I think right now the main thing that I want to tell people is that we are still in a pandemic, so we must remain cautious. Wear masks, wash your hands and make sure to not only stay healthy but to ensure that your families are healthy as well. I know that a lot of people have to go out and work, but make sure to remain cautious if you must go out. Make sure to maintain social distancing. We must stay safe, and better days are ahead.
