Amritpal’s key aide Joga Singh arrested

On Saturday, a main aide of pro-Khalistan leader and Waris De Punjab chief Amritpal Singh was arrested from Sirhind. According to the police, Joga Singh was with Amritpal from March 18 to 28. Joga Singh was arrested in a joint mission of Amritpal-rural and Hoshiarpur police, said Narinder Bhargav, DIG Border range.

A senior official said that the police were on his trail and Singh was coming to Punjab from Haryana. A resident of Ludhiana and managing a “dera” in Pilibhit, Joga Singh arranged shelter and vehicles for Amritpal Singh.

“Joga Singh was in direct contact with Amritpal Singh. He arranged shelter and vehicles for Amritpal Singh. He arranged for him to stay in Pilibhit and then return to Punjab,” said Deputy Inspector General (Border Range) Narinder Bhargav at a press conference.

The police said they had earlier arrested two more men for allegedly sheltering Amritpal Singh. They added that the arrested men were identified as Rajdeep Singh of Babak village in Hoshiarpur district and Sarbjit Singh of Jalandhar district.

The Khalistan sympathizer is yet to be caught, who has escaped the police’s trap in Jalandhar district on March 18 by changing vehicles and his appearance. However, the police initiated a major crackdown against Amritpal Singh and members of his ‘Waris Punjab De’ outfit last month.
