Interview with Actress Hana Giraldo

Today a very famous saying of Walt Disney – “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them” came true when Hana Giraldo finally said yes for this interview.

Hana Giraldo is an actress and singer; she is the daughter of Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo. But you can’t define her by just calling her celebrity and daughter of celebrities because Hana Giraldo is beautiful women with a beautiful heart and you too will agree to me once you will read this interview. I am so glad that she took time out of her busy schedule to chat with us; here are the questions I asked:

PLEASE, BRIEFLY INTRODUCE YOURSELF, WHO IS HANA GIRALDO IN YOUR OWN WORDS?
I’m 26 years old born and raised in LA, by as crazy as it sounds, rock star parents. I guess you could say I’m a little goofy, I love life, I have my own way of doing things, I look for the good in everyone, I can be intense, in a good way, I have boundless energy, I love to work…I’ve been called a spark plug haha.

YOU ARE SUCH A BRILLIANT ACTRESS, WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE TOUGHEST PART OF YOUR WORK?
Oh, thanks so much! Hmmmm….that’s a hard one. There’s so much that goes into acting! I’d say the hardest part of being an actress is auditioning. Having to interpret a script, usually with very little time is always a challenge. There’s so much that goes into becoming a character and the interaction with the other actors is so important. While we’re all in quarantine and or socially distancing, I’m only able to do self-tapes for auditions. There’s no director, no feedback… it’s definitely been more difficult.

HOW IS IT TO BE A DAUGHTER OF A CELEBRITY, HOW DID IT IMPACT YOUR LIFE?
You know people always ask me this question. I was raised in the Music Industry, it was crazy, fun, weird, exciting, and I wouldn’t change it for anything. It was literally all I knew, so for me it was normal. I was blessed to have parents who always put my sister and me first. They always taught us to be kind, humble and strong. They made it clear that this was their work, not their life. We were their life. So, I grew up as my own person. This did not define me in any way.
There were perks, meet n greets with your favorite bands and cons, having to be on the tour “schedule” for weeks. But I couldn’t have asked for a more fun life. I mean how many kids can say that they could just run on stage, in front of thousands of people, grab bubble gum from their dad’s music stand and runoff while their parents were playing “Heartbreaker”. Our babysitter would have to hold me or I’d just run back out there. I loved being on stage even then, haha!

The Real Brand - Hana Giraldo

HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE IDEA OF YOUR OWN FASHION LINE? HAS IT CHANGED ANYTHING IN YOUR LIFE?
I’ve always had an eye and love for fashion! Even as a kid I would constantly draw shoes or purses! One day I was looking online and saw some shirt worth hundreds of dollars and I thought, wait I can do that! So I started designing clothes and accessories! There was a lot of trial and error, but eventually, it became second nature! It’s just something I love and will always appreciate! I feel like fashion opened my eyes to a whole new me! I could be a different character any day of the week just by changing clothes! That’s was so amazing! And that’s how it began.
Recently I just came out with custom face masks as a fundraiser for Feeding America! I’m thrilled (find a word you kids say)to say we have fed over 20,000 families from the sales to date! During this crazy time of Covid-19, I had the idea and teamed up with my friend Heather Fulton. We spent hours coming up with the designs, and within two days we had them ready and made for shipping!

WHAT DO YOU THINK IS MOST IMPORTANT IN YOUR FIELD?
I think the most important thing about this field is knowing your brand and sticking with it! Be authentic, don’t try to be someone else, never settle for good, be great! It’s so important to be YOU! Not your idol or someone else, be YOU! It’s impossible anyway, there’s only one YOU! Love yourself, and people will feel that confidence and be connected! F the haters and don’t give up! The one thing I know is, I’m so grateful to have been given the chance to make content people actually care about! And support each other, damn it! I wish people would understand how much we need each other! Collabs are key!

HOW IMPORTANT IS PERSONAL BRANDING FOR YOU, AND WHAT YOU DO TO GROW YOUR PERSONAL BRAND?
I would say branding is probably one of the most important components of being in this industry! When I say Brand I mean ( ask your self who are you? What does well?) it’s not easy but it’s doable! People don’t realize is it’s not something you find; it’s something that you’re born with! It’s wIred in you! You are amazing own it! Once you find that little niche just stick with it! Be consistent, it’s all about finding that’s signature trademark, that “wow” factor that is yours. I hate to repeat myself, but there’s only One you. You will never be somebody else, so concentrate and zero in on that unique quality. Stick to what you know and what you’re good at, and you will succeed. Heck, I’m still trying to figure out exactly what my brand is! Just believe in yourself and people will follow

ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH OUR READERS?
I just wanna say I love my fans more than they know! I want you guys to know. We’re basically all the same, we all have shit! We all have our days, nobody’s perfect. Everyone has something! I was bullied as a kid so I know what it feels like to be unwanted or feel like I wasn’t important. I’m so grateful and thankful that it happened to me at a young age. I had the support of family and friends and time to work it all out.
I want to connect with people and help when I can. If I can in some way, be a role model or help someone change their life for the better, I’ll feel like I’ve really accomplished my goal.
