Actress Casey Burke: Her Rise to “The Middle”

Casey Burke is an actress and singer based in New York City. Before moving to the Big Apple, however, growing up in Los Angeles gave her just the locale to start her ongoing career in the TV and film industry.

After discovering her passion for theatre and acting at the age of 8, Casey began taking classes and working on connections in order to learn and advance as quickly as she could in the LA show business scene. She joined a local community theatre and developed her skills in acting, singing, and improv enough to impress a management team that would help her get her start in the professional world. She quickly moved from indie and student short films to guest roles on shows like Big Time Rush and Modern Family, eventually landing her biggest role yet as Cindy on ABC’s The Middle, on which she recurred for its final four seasons.

While on the show, Casey juggled her education at public high school with the lessons she learned every day on set at Warner Bros. Working with seasoned actors like Patricia Heaton, and with an experienced and welcoming crew not only taught her the ins and outs of professionalism, dedication, and balancing work and life, but also instilled the knowledge that this was more than just a hobby for her.

With The Middle under her belt, and her outside friends going off to college, Casey decided that she wanted to return to her original acting roots and explore the world of Musical Theatre. And what better place to study the stage than New York City?

So after 10 years in sunny California, Casey signed with New York representatives and began navigating, once again, a school and work life balance.

During the COVID-19 shutdown, Casey had to graduate virtually from college, but found every opportunity to keep up with her passion, doing several online plays, musical cabarets, and webseries. With the industry finally beginning to come back into full swing, she hopes to dive into more challenging roles and works, starting with a short film and a staged reading of a new musical work yet to be fully shown to the world.
