CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF, WHO IS JOSHUA PACKARD IN YOUR OWN WORDS?
I am a sophomore in high school at an arts focused school. I am caring and kind and an animal lover. I am an only child so friends mean a lot to me because they become like my siblings as do my pets.

HOW AND WHEN EXACTLY DID YOU REALIZE YOU HAD THE PASSION FOR ACTING?
I don’t know exactly when it happened but I have known since I was very young. I used to watch movies over and over and rewind my favorite scenes and repeat the lines. As soon I realized that being an actor was a job, I knew that is what I wanted to do. I want to entertain people like the movies have entertained me.

HOW HAVE YOU MANAGED TO BALANCE YOUR SCHOOLWORK, ACTING AND YOUR OUTSIDE ACTIVITIES OVER ALL THESE YEARS?
My teachers have been very understanding if I need to take time off for a project. I do have to make sure I do the homework though… If it is a smaller project, they are usually good about scheduling weekend days so it doesn’t conflict with school. My teachers and principals are very supportive and get excited when they see me on a TV show which is pretty cool.

HOW DO YOU PREPARE IN ADVANCE FOR A ROLE?
I try to think of who the character is what they are like if the script doesn’t mention it. It is fun to create the character.  I go to my room where it is quiet and study the script and memorize the lines.

WHAT TYPE OF ROLE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF PLAYING IN THE FUTURE?
I would love to have a leading role but I would be very happy playing the best friend or the bully. I am taller than some actors my age so I have been cast in bully roles because of that. I am not a bully but I can play one in movies or TV. I think the supporting characters can be a lot of fun.

WHO DO YOU THINK COULD BE REALLY GOOD ROLE MODELS FOR TEENS, AND WHY?
Zendaya – she is very talented and she has been acting and modeling since she was much younger. She seems to care a lot about her family and works very hard doing what she loves. I am sure she is a very nice person to have as a friend and to work with.
