About Insider talks to Director/Producer and Writer Homer Broadnax

HI! THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO CHAT WITH US! CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF, WHO IS HOMER BROADNAX IN YOUR OWN WORDS?
Hello, Homer Broadnax is an independent filmmaker as well as Blues/Soul Singer.

PLEASE TELL US WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO ENTER INTO THE WORLD OF FILMS?
I started as a PA with Eileen Fields, who taught me how to do a budget and script breakdown. From that moment on I wanted to Produce and Direct.

WHAT WAS THE HARDEST ARTISTIC CHOICE YOU MADE IN THE MAKING OF A FILM, AT ANY STAGE IN PRODUCTION?
The hardest part of making the current film Blood of Drago was making sure I had enough money to pay the actors and pay for food.

HOW DO YOU HANDLE WHEN AN ACTOR IS NOT PROFESSIONAL?

When an actor is not professional or show up on the set intoxicated I pull them aside and let them know this is not how things run here.

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO RESEARCH AND MAKE THE FILM?
Blood of Drago was shot in a total of 8 days, but it actually took 23 years to finally get it made, lack of investors held up the project so I made the film with my own money.

WHO’VE BEEN YOUR INFLUENCE WITHIN THE INDUSTRY?
My biggest influence would have to be Alfred Hitchcock. I have studied all of his films constantly to get an element of suspense working in my film.

WHAT’S SOMETHING WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT YOU THAT MIGHT SURPRISE US?
I write horror and vampire films, but actually I’m a ordained minister and also have meditation sessions for those that need inspiration in their life.

PLEASE TELL US ABOUT YOUR UPCOMING PROJECTS.

I am currently getting ready to make a short teaser for Blood of Drago Part 2.  We will shoot it in mid-August.

WHERE CAN OUR READERS FIND YOU ONLINE?

I am very visible online as a Performer on Youtube. My film Blood of Drago is on Amazon
