A Slice of Life with Troy Bronson

We have been following travel photographer Troy Bronson closely, and have been trying to get a few minutes of his life to have some chit-chat and know more about him. After chasing Troy for a long, we could manage to have a chat with him and here are the questions we asked:

PLEASE, BRIEFLY INTRODUCE YOURSELF, WHO IS TROY BRONSON IN YOUR OWN WORDS?
Bronson is a guy confident in his abilities, he seeks success with firm goals, he has had experiences in vast countries that helps him understand people better to control situations that might present in the future. He is a person with dreams of becoming a professional in the Media industry and keeps volunteering both at home and abroad. I’m a person with a sense of wonder who likes to try things and get out of my comfort zone. Oh, I’m also the child of a mother.

WHERE DOES YOUR PASSION FOR PHOTOGRAPHY COME FROM?
It comes from my desired to travel the world since I was little; there’s always time to snap a picture quickly and is a way to preserve memories more vividly. I recently started shooting analog photography, and I’m excited to click through some more rolls, it’s a whole process but worth it.

WHAT DOES TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY MEAN TO YOU?
Travel photography is a genre that allows you the documentation of an area’s landscape, people’s, customs, and history. For me, travel photography means having the most genuine human interaction one can have while taking pictures of people. Photos involving people from foreign countries are my thing, and friends, of course.

THREE PHOTOGRAPHERS WHO INSPIRED YOU
Annie Leibovitz, Terry Richardson, and David LaChapelle. Funny, the three of them don’t do much of travel photography work, but they represent my desire to discover other genres within.

WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR WHILE COMPOSING YOUR SHOT?
Usually, the first thing is being aware of the grid and position the subject in the right place, then wait for something to happen. Also, pull the camera and don’t miss something cool that is happening in front of you, basically being aware of the whole photo filling up just about the needed spaces of the format for it to look flawless.

WHO HAS INSPIRED YOU IN YOUR LIFE, AND WHY?
My mom, she’s always has believed in me. I dream big, and she reminds me now and then in a way like if I already accomplished my dreams, she manifests, and that’s a very powerful thing. Also, Kirk Douglas, if you read about his life on Wikipedia, you will realize how he never took no for an answer, such a legend!

WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT SO FAR?
I worked as a location scout for an Oscar Nominee director.
