5 Best Small Phones to Buy

Small phones used to be a trend not long ago, but that has changed since the emergence of the wide touchscreen phone. Small phones might have fewer options than today’s standard phones, but they are still fairly good and powerful for daily use. Read on to find a selection of the top small phones available on the market today.

Apple iPhone 12 Mini

Apple released the 12 series last year, and one of the models is the high-end iPhone 12 mini. It boasts a 5.4-inch OLED screen and is physically smaller than the iPhone SE due to the notch and lack of bezels. Aside from the screen and size, the iPhone 12 mini’s features include MagSafe technology, which allows you to attach devices magnetically, and a faster processor, the A14 Bionic chipset, which is up to 40% faster than the A12.

The camera is also impressive, with two back lenses – a 12MP primary lens and a 12MP ultra-wide shooter. If anything is lacking, it is the starting storage of 64GB, which may be insufficient for some, as well as the small battery size, which could have been better given all the high-end features.

Apple iPhone SE (2020)

The list would be incomplete if Apple’s entry-level model, the iPhone SE (2020), is not included. Despite its low price, it packs a lot of punch, such as the 4.7 inches screen and A13 Bionic processor, which will last you for years and include the most recent version of iOS. Do not be surprised by its single 12MP rear camera, because it can still take exceptional photographs and videos.

Furthermore, the iPhone has high-end features such as wireless charging and IP67 waterproofing, which protects against solid items such as dust and sand. It may not have the most elegant design or a camera with Night Mode like other iPhones, but the iPhone SE excels in every other aspect.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3

Released only a few months ago, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is the one to watch for. While it brings back the nostalgia of using a classic flip phone, the company’s flagship still offers cutting-edge technology. It has a 1.9-inch cover screen and a large 6.7-inch AMOLED screen inside with a refresh rate of 120Hz, making scrolling significantly faster.

Aside from being powered by the Snapdragon 888, the Samsung phone comes with multiple storage options, more than enough to keep everything you need. It also includes several widgets that allow you to run many apps directly from this small screen, although their applications are relatively limited. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 boasts two back cameras, a 12MP primary camera and a 12MP ultrawide-angle camera that produce good shots in low-light conditions.

Samsung Galaxy S10e

Even though it has been two years since its release, the Samsung Galaxy S10e retains some of its high-end specs and can be used as a compact phone in 2021. The Samsung phone sports a 5.8-inch 1080 AMOLED screen that is not just brilliant but highly detailed. As a high-end S series model, it includes a Snapdragon 855 processor, which was among the best released in 2019.

In addition to decent battery life, there is a stunning dual-lens camera with 12MP main and 16MP ultra-wide resolution. The Galaxy S10e is also well-built, having a glass back and metal frame. There is no denying that it falls short in some areas, but given the features available, it is well worth buying at such an affordable price.

Google Pixel 4a

The Google Pixel 4a should not be overlooked, although the Pixel 5a is now available. It features a 5.81-inch OLED display and extremely thin bezels, thanks to a hole-punch selfie camera design and a very thin earpiece. The Google phone is powered by a strong Snapdragon 730G processor, which is an obvious advantage because it will be the first of many to receive any new software updates.

Other than that, the camera is excellent, although it only has a 12.2MP single-lens camera on the back and an 8MP one on the front. The camera performs admirably and takes high-quality photos and videos even in low light. Although the Google Pixel 4a is becoming increasingly difficult to find, it is worth buying because of its compact size, which you will not find in other Pixel phones.
